RON PARRISH They are very easy to use. You inhale to make the noise with your lips pursed together. The wing bone is essentially a horn to amplify the sound. You can sort of tune them to the sound you prefer prior to the epoxy to hold them. I have one from a bearded hen that is smaller in diameter and I prefer it to bones from a tom or a jake.
bocephus I used to make the drippers out of pvc pipe back in the early 80’s but then went to the sweat hoses & a manifold or quick disconnect with a .5 GPH restrictor & you are right, they are life savers. We mulch heavily with Alfalfa & chicken house straw cleanings to & that helps tremendously with the Alfalfa, etc. getting worked back into the soil for a good thing later. The Alfalfa was always a little high, but it has now gone to ridiculously beyond high. Gardening has started to get expensive these days compared to the store, which has also gotten ridiculous, but we still enjoy what is ours.
Thanks. It has been sealed in a large container that is vacuum sealed - one of those large Food Saver jar-like containers that doesn’t put pressure on the the contents the way a Food Saver vacuum-packed plastic bag would. There’s no contact with the contents of the container that would crush the casings - just an air tight vacuum environment.
JoeB You’re lucky to have been in his presence during your early years. TSM was my go to place for everything until Mid Western Research (early Waltons) started selling B2C (Buisness To Consumer). I still purchase some products from TSM here and there, old habits are hard to break.
shoprat53 I think they took it off the playstore I remember them talking about Google wanting them to do stuff to keep it on that they weren’t going to do. I have it on my phone and it still works not sure how you get it now though
Deepwoodsbutcher Had an extensive discussion with 2 women butchers in Cleveland,OH who own Saucisson. They broke it down like this. “Think that a pig is standing like you on their back legs. The “butt cut” comes from your shoulders/shoulder blades. Period. Also, with very minor differences, the anatomy of a pig and human are the same.” Yep, they broke it down easily.
Dave in AZ thanks Dave. I wasn’t thinking past the cook to 165. I think I’ll try some on the next batch. So many things to try to keep straight I’m so glad we got a place to discuss things without someone getting offended. Tks brother.
processhead Wow Paul, I did not realize it would keep that long. We keep some in bottles & gallon demi johns for the next usage, rather than discarding. I have seen some cloud up a bit & was never exactly sure of the cause. After several months or so, I have typically either refurbished it a bit for a run or just made a new batch, especially if it was one of the cloudy ones.
bocephus You would be surprised as to how many roofs I have found bullets lodged into over the years. They dug into the shingles a pretty good little ways too, not full penetration mind you, but they did not just bounce off the surface either. Amazing.
zbigjeff Had to sneak in just one bottle of that Dopplebock, I believe it was a 10 ABV, last night when smoking hamburger steaks & onions, I just could not stand it any longer. It was amazing, but I have now had my taste & I will try to be a good boy & let it rest some more.
Austin yeah, if we are going to leave the down vote (and I vote we do) then I think it showing up is a good thing. I have mistakenly hit the downvote a time or two and someone has contacted me asking why and I am able to fix it by removing the downvote.
With Russia backing out of the START treaty has Jonathon begun to stock pile medications for radiation poisoning?
Is Joe Biden Puerto Rican or Polish?
Jonathon Florida is considering a bill to make it illegal for a dog to stick his head out of a vehicle window. It also requires them to be in a harness or pet seatbelt while in the vehicle.
What is your opinion on this?
waknitz35 hopefully! If it does, please let us know. Just took a picture of my last summer sausage WITHOUT citric, or smooth acid, same thing. Yesterday was fine, into refer over night and it just started to change color around one piece of cheese at the top. The other green specks are green pepper.20230217_130426.jpg
Sydik Farms cut your jerky thicker, and across the grain.
I use a dehydrator from CABELA’s and make 3 whole large eye of round at a time 8 to 9 kg. Temperature starts at 145 to 160. Approximately 7.5 hours they crack when I bend them on the outside and flexible on the inside. I leave them in the dehydrator for 3 more hours with it off, and it balances the moisture throughout the jerky. I bag them shortly after with an oxygen absorber, they are ply able and chewy!image.jpg
I noticed the change as well and I would like to offer some FRIENDLY FEEDBACK. When you click on either of the two forms for the free daily entry links (that should lead to your website); they only lead back to the waltons.com/win page not your waltons.com home page. in other words, it takes you to the page you that you already are on. They should dirtect you to your home page. Also, I reallyliked the chance to win every day with the spinning wheel, but that is no longer there as of today (02-03-23). I know it was for mainly seasonings, but you could have added gift cards as well. THANKS for all the Fun and the wealth of free knowledge.
twilliams I completely agree that visually it is not appealing at all, but I would still try it. At work several of us have agreed to try whatever we bring, at least one bite and well some have been very good, and others were stand by the trash can just in case.
Jonathon In addition, dry the cheese of your choice a bit to help with its heat temperance & then freeze it before adding to your mix, late in the mix. We use other natural cheeses using this method too, just make sure you are you a harder & more aged cheese as we have had better luck with those.
JonathonAustin Margaret just found our order here today. We are extremely satisfied with the order & timing from you, much better than I would ever expect from a back ordered product. Thank YOU guys & your team. FEDEX (they have all been doing it for about 10 years now, except the USPS, they are still a bit better here), well, they did another stop & drop (new driver again) at the front door that is never used instead of using the back delivery door where they can just drive around straight through without backing or anything. So, when she found it the box & everything inside was soaking wet, just short of falling apart (had she not discovered it would have), as they had done the ol stop & drop, no knock, no ring, just stop & drop. I think everything will be fine though & we truly appreciate what you guys do!Soiled Walton's Boxes ruined by FEDEX II.jpg
dawg And that is what is going to kill some slowly overtime, others it won’t affect. We are doing as much as we can to get away from processed foods of any kind. All that really is standing in our way, sauces, and we love our sauces!
twilliams My daughter has Asperger syndrome, she was originally diagnosed in the late 80’s being classified with mild mental retardation, the common diagnosis given to autistic and children that did not fit the mold. They are special in their own ways having traits and skills that they makes them who they are.
