This is interesting...

It is interesting but will probably pass on that. -
Nothing wrong with babysitting. Kids, grandkids and smoke coming out of the grill. Gotta bring them up right.

Joe Hell and PapaSop my main grill is a combo pellet grill. It’s easy to use and I think gives a better product than gas, only downside is it tops out at 500 sonhetting a really nice seat requires the grill grates. Those work but then it’s one more thing to clean! I think it works really well for smoking a pork loin or something but I still haven’t done sticks or summer sausage on it. Luckily for me I have access to the meatgistics pk-100 for whenever I want to do something!

Jonathon I have grilled a handful of times on my buddies pit boss pellet grill and loved the results. His has the searing option which was great for steak. The ease of use is a huge selling point. There is no doubt I will own one at some point.

You’re a lucky guy Mr. pk-100. I know several people that have those grills and love them. Yeah, maybe someday. -
Hey fellas, I have a Traeger wood pellet grill, and make snack sticks and jerky beautifully. I’ve used all kinds of meat blocks and mixed versions. The only complaint is on it’s lowest setting it gets to hot I keep an air fan blowing on it and crack the lid to adjust.
Most times when I first started out with a premix kit it said to cook at 180°/200° For two hours. I have changed this to the lowest setting for 1-hour then increase 10° each hour until I reach an internal temp of 165°
I hope this helps.

Jonathon I bought the prosmoker 100SS with the $1800 electronic controller upgrade for $8200, yes its a bit over the top for your typical home smoker but I wanted the dual burners and internal fan for even heat throughout the cooking chamber. I really wished it offered the side pellet smoke generator. I really like it so far, the only thing I don’t like is the manual timer for the smoke burner that only goes to 60 minutes. If your smoking for 1-12 hours its troublesome to remember to go out and reset the dial.

I have a Yoder Smokers YS640 Pellet Smoker and have had it for about 6 years. Use it, here in Kansas 12 months a year. It has enough room, with a second level shelf, to smoke 48 chicken breasts at a time. I have used it to bake bread (8 loaves) smoke multiple roasts, anything you can think of. It has a temperature range of 175-500 F. With the heat diffuser plate out, you can use it to direct grill, and with Grill Grates (actual Product name) you can get some very nice grill lines you want for steaks. With multiple flavors in pellets, you can get about any smoke flavor you want. All, in all, I love my smoker Did I mention turkeys?

twilliams Thanks, we love your set up! The Pro Smokers are awesome smokers even if they are more expensive, the insulation alone makes it worth it in my mind. I’d be lost without our PK-100!
