Jonathon I hate it when a steak doesn’t turn out just the way you expect. I have to say, though. That one still looks darn good. Hopefully you were still able to eat it.

Jonathon said in What did everyone cook today?:
Sadly this steak was subpar. I was not a fan of the texture, I had a problem getting the side sear box hot enough so it had to sit for a bit between the reverse sear!
It looks good to me. You may have thought it was subpar but I’m sure it was over and above what you would have gotten at a restaurant. By the way nice grate marks.

Denny O It’s the weekend and everyone is cooking, posts will slow Mon-Fri because of work schedules and early bed times from their daily grind.
-
Steven Winscot yeah, I try and save money in other ways. Good food is worth the price
-
dawg sounds a bit like me when I was young. My dad once gave me money to spend on a road trip. I saved it and bought a nice porterhouse steak when we got back. I even cooked it myself lol.
-
Jonathon What did it taste like, that is what matters most? Just a little rest between the smoke & the sear is OK & even desired.
-
Steven Winscot nice pun!!! dawg tasted ok it was really the lack of tenderness I didn’t like, there were also more pieces of tendon in there than I would have expected. Thanks to everyone who said it still looked good, it wasn’t as good as I thought it should be bit wasn’t terrible.

Great choice of steak 🥩! That’s awesome.
Jonathan
I bet it was good. Even if it wasn’t great, it was still good. -
My daughter did get her steak tonight with homemade steak fries. It wasn’t the best visually but she loved it and cleaned it all up.
