What did everyone cook today?

GWG8541 Oh Boy, I bet everyone was having a ball. Nothing better than creating good soul satisfying stuff like that & showing up at someone’s house with all those treats.

gus4416 it had started cooling when I took it up. After eating a piece with the stew, my father-in-law went back and cut a big piece and did exactly that. He is 87 and stays very active, so bread and butter is health food to him.

calldoctoday yeah, we haven’t been up to visit in awhile since I had the COVID. My in laws are in their upper 80s and in good health, but I didn’t want to take any chances. So my lovely wife requested I make the Brunswick stew as a surprise. They had never had it before and really liked it. Its nice just visiting with them without them feeling like they need to fix food or entertain us. Im lucky, not only did I marry up, my inlaws are good down to earth people.

bocephus Whew that looks good. I can just taste that perfectly tasty & juicy bird. You had better keep a lock on him or I am going to reach out there a snatch that bird. I’ll have to change my handle to Smitty Smith!
Margaret is working on a zoup for the night with some old turkey bone broth, left-over turkey bits from that fried turkey, onions, peppers, turnips, & kale from the garden. Got a pork roast with pearl barley & kale coming soon.

@dennyo Especially if it is real buttermilk or hot water style cooked in cast iron with melted butter, mmmmmmmmmm…
