johnsbrewhouse Daughter states that Victoria is to Canada as Hawaii is to the United States.
Craigderoche Castle is something to take in along with the Parliament and the Warf over by the cruise ships. Butchart gardens is quite beautiful in the late spring/early summer. There is more. -

johnsbrewhouse Ohh Yes, That sounds so good & looks even better! Like your dishes too.

Denny O We thought we would get some much needed yesterday, much needed. But, narry a drop, just three days of clouds. Weird, so have to turn the drippers back on. We get about five gallons every other day from the dehumidifier & a gallon ever few hours or so form the HVAC condensate, but that will never, ever, come close to a nice, long, slow rain for a day or so.

johnsbrewhouse It was easier when you used to have to have just a driver’s license…

Denny O I think VCI is better, but granted, I have never been or lived there before, but have known or worked with quite a few that have lived in Hawaii before including my sister & I am proud to say, I like VCI & even Vancouver better or at least did. I would have to rant on for a while to name the reasons pro & cons, so will refrain.

John Belvedere That looks good! I’m going to try those smashed potatoes next time I use the flat top griddle.

Grilled the last of the Weisswurst I made a while back. Made some Spaetzle and had some leftover German red cabbage. It’s actually better tasting the second or third day after sitting in the fridge. I’m going to have to make more Weisswurst soon.

calldoctoday Fine old Corel ware and Pyrex. They may be nearly as old as I am. They came from my mom’s collection.

When you tell them you were born in Germany and your wife in France they asked more questions until they found we had military parents. A one daughter was born in Germany as well. Passport cards are great, no enhanced drivers license even though my commercial license has the same requirements as the enhanced. Make flying easier too, TSA knows what they are.

They are very easy to make. Just get small potatoes (red or Yukon Gold, that’s what I used) and boil them until fork tender. Make sure the skin is dry and then just smash into some hit oil on the griddle.

johnsbrewhouse Yes, the GOOD old stuff & not this junk they have been passing off these days. We had used it for years as well & never had a single problem with it & then bought a few new pieces within the past 10 years & both of them are now broken, with the same use as the old stuff got for years & years & years.
