mrobisr Exactly. I am with you 110%. My brother did the circuit for years with all the schedules, rushing from here to there, etc. It looked like a whole lot of work & stress to me & not much fun.
Shippable Snack Sticks?

Ok. Here is the situation.
My Daughter lives in Boston. I live in Missouri. I want to send her some snack sticks via mail.
How can I do this and the meat be safe when she gets it?Thanks!

knifemaker3 if you contact ups they can help you with packing and shipping I mail a lot at xmass and if you go to one of their retail outlets ,they have many places around the country ,I believe they have foam shipping containers and can over night the package I would have it frozen to start. dry ice in the container is also an option. either them or FedEx. I hope this helps

knifemaker3 I have received meat as A xmass gift in the past in this maner

knifemaker3 Next day or second day shipping with a cold pack in a styrofoam cooler should do the trick. I’d also vac seal them. If you had a way to test pH and water activity they might be shelf stable but giving your daughter food poisoning just isn’t worth it!

Thanks! I’ll check with the local Fedup joint. Doubt they will be able to help as they are only a drop off station but we’ll see.

knifemaker3 make certain that you ask about the regulations and practices for shipping with dry ice

I got the heavy foam coolers with the cold packs from my doctor’s office, they throw them out when they empty them!
That makes it Cheaper don’t have to buy the container, there not cheap
