processhead I really don’t count the pork fat its self, I just cut up the pork butt and added in how much was necessary for my liking. I did add in some bacon this year and we like the results.
Homemade Pork roll? (Taylor Ham)
-
So I did a quick search and couldn’t find anything on making some nice tasty homemade pork roll, I guess its called taylor ham for all those people not from NJ lol.
Unless its called something else I couldn’t find a post on this f***m, I did find one on a google search but I’m curious as to who else has attempted this tasty breakfast treat.
I’d love to make some venison pork roll and give it a try!

BobbyMac Check out wedinydomowe.pl/en It is a website dedicated to home made meats and sausages. They have a pork roll f***m. I have made pork roll a bunch of times following the recipe and suggestions in this f***m. Tastes is very close to Taylor Ham. Cases is the other brand of pork roll in NJ. It is smoked and has a sweeter flavor. Taylor ham is tangier.

BobbyMac If I can find a recipe for pork roll, my wife would pretty much let me buy anything I wanted equipment wise.
Currently I have it imported from Jersey. I buy 4 or 5 pound for her every year at Christmas. If I could make it at home, I’d literally be coined a super hero. I am now on a mission. I’ll share if I find anything… -
Steve Risse Thanks Steve !

Steve Risse Site appears broken. I’ll see what I can find.
-
DougSmokes Hahaha I can ship you as much as you want
-
Steve Risse Thank you Steve for the input

BobbyMac Wow, there is actually a lot of material out there (non-meatgistics) for something that I hadn’t even ever heard of. Other than it being sweet I don’t see what the deal is though, anyone who knowsm(@Steve-Risse ?) care to fill us in?

Jonathon Message me your address I’ll send you a log of pork roll ASAP haha, it’s the greatest jersey breakfast sandwich ever made.
I’m destined to perfect it but I don’t even know where to start lol

Sorry if that site didn’t work. I tried to cut and paste the URL into my reply and I got a “spam” error message from this f***m. The pork roll recipe that is discussed there originated from here http://lpoli.50webs.com/index_files/NewJerseyPorkRoll.pdf.

Steve Risse No worries Steve. This link works. Much appreciated!
-
BobbyMac Thanks Bobby. I’ll keep that in my back pocket… You in the Jersey area?
-
DougSmokes Yes I am, I live in a town called Beachwood which is about 2 blocks from the beach and 15 mins from the Pine Barrens
-
Steve Risse Thank you, that’s some great information right there
-
BobbyMac have you checked out deli meats on this site ?
-
craigrice another great resource is meatsandsausages.com. Also, Google “wedlinydomowe” to find an awesome source of information from some seriously dedicated sausage makers! It is a complimentary f***m for the meatsandsausages website. It’s a Polish website that is related to Stanley and Adam Marianski. The site has an English side with contributing members throughout the world. Between these sites and Meatgistics, you will have a meat encyclopedia!

I’ve heard of this “pork roll.” And heard there it’s a debate of it being Pork roll or Taylor Ham. I will admit that I heard of it from the tv show “Jersey Shore.” Lol
-
