HerbcoFood the levels of cornstarch that are in there probably won’t affect anything. If there was enough cornstarch it maybe would act kind of like a binder, or thickening agent, but probably not very well, and only if levels were a lot higher than what is on the shredded cheese. The worst shredded cheese would probably do is just grease out and melt out or at least move towards the outside of the casing.

@Team-Blue @Team-Orange Joe Hell What is everyone making for their significant other, or for you smart single one’s out there yourself? Is it going to be to steak, seafood, etc? What sides or apps are you going to be serving with it?
I wonder if Austin will be cooking a nice frozen pizza for Jonathon while they are away in southern Canada?

calldoctoday I love barracho beans, but that is kinda of an odd side with the other items. How do you make your beans?
-
Well, plenty of protein, how about that & we just like em.
I have a mix of dried Pinto, Mayacoba, & Red Kidney Beans I make up & soak. Sometimes I will use some Blacks instead of the Kidneys. Soak them over night. Rinse them well. Soak in 20 bottles of Dark Beer (Yuengling Black & Tan is my typical easy Dark Go To) Chop up several Jalopolenos, Pablanos, Sweet onions, Bermuda Onions, Smoked Dried Pablanos, & some spices. I try to add about a quart of home made Ham Bone Broth along with the Beer, to make a total of about 8-9 cups of liquid. I let them simmer on low about all day. Oh, I add some chopped up smoked rib or ham meat if I have any. I have my basic recipe, but I mess with it a little just about every time. This is for a small batch that fits in my small stock pot. How about you? -

calldoctoday I have never came close to putting that much beer in mine. My recipe like yours changes about every time I make it. I usually add bacon and andouille sausage to mine.
-
Well, I usually take a small swig or two if it is after 12:00 when I start.
Whooeee! That sounds good too. I like that Andouille Sausage, but usually reserve that for my Middle of the Winter Gumbo.
It’s past time for Middle of The Winter Gumbo this year, maybe that is next.
You got me remembering. -
