calldoctoday I love barracho beans, but that is kinda of an odd side with the other items. How do you make your beans?
-
Well, plenty of protein, how about that & we just like em.
I have a mix of dried Pinto, Mayacoba, & Red Kidney Beans I make up & soak. Sometimes I will use some Blacks instead of the Kidneys. Soak them over night. Rinse them well. Soak in 20 bottles of Dark Beer (Yuengling Black & Tan is my typical easy Dark Go To) Chop up several Jalopolenos, Pablanos, Sweet onions, Bermuda Onions, Smoked Dried Pablanos, & some spices. I try to add about a quart of home made Ham Bone Broth along with the Beer, to make a total of about 8-9 cups of liquid. I let them simmer on low about all day. Oh, I add some chopped up smoked rib or ham meat if I have any. I have my basic recipe, but I mess with it a little just about every time. This is for a small batch that fits in my small stock pot. How about you? -

calldoctoday I have never came close to putting that much beer in mine. My recipe like yours changes about every time I make it. I usually add bacon and andouille sausage to mine.
-
Well, I usually take a small swig or two if it is after 12:00 when I start.
Whooeee! That sounds good too. I like that Andouille Sausage, but usually reserve that for my Middle of the Winter Gumbo.
It’s past time for Middle of The Winter Gumbo this year, maybe that is next.
You got me remembering. -

-
Parksider ughhhhh there IS a February 29th this year!
-
Tex_77 I’m sorry… @Team-Blue was never left in charge…and is never in charge. @Team-Orange has been and always will remain in charge! Have you seen the official colors of Meatgistics & Walton’s? Pretty sure, but you can double check me if you want, but it is ORANGE!

Austin It’s ok that your color is losing the war, and the customers of Walton’s and users of Meatgistics have clearly spoken by their votes, that @Team-Blue is better. 3 of the Top 5 posters are Team Blue Joe Hell Jonathon , 3 of the 5 posters with the most reputation are Team Blue members, Team Blue has 83 members to team orange’s 79. The numbers don’t lie Team Blue, is clearly winning the war, and has won the hearts and minds of the Meatgistics users!
-
Jonathon I was hoping to sneak that one in before anyone realized there is a 29th this year!!! @Team-Orange
-
Parksider Sure ya do…
-
Austin said in Valentine's Day:
ry… @Team-Blue was never left in charge
What you been smoking son? Orange…LMAO.
-
Jonathon Is it me or has Austin aged since the last time we saw him? Team blue seems to age much more gracefully in comparison to the orange folk.
