Seen some huge snakes when living in Central and South Americas. Not for me but everyone needs a few hobbies. Looks like they are well cared for.

beekeeper84 I don’t have an issue with them, pretty much a dog person myself. Used to have hives up here, but we would lose 50-100% after winter, not to mention the spring bear awakening.

I don’t have any pictures any more but I use to have an 8ft red tail. Use to take her to the park when I would take my ex’s kids to play. She was always the center of attention.

beekeeper84 I feel your pain. This is the worst time of the year for the bees. Weather sucks and bees are at their weakest point.

beekeeper84 I haven’t heard much about colony collapse disorder anymore. A few years ago I had read that the bee population in the US was under severe threat from this but then I stopped hearing about it. Is it still going on and we are just used to it now so it isn’t “news” anymore?

Jonathon yeah it still is happening there’s alot of studies being conducted on various aspects of it including plants that are treated with neonicotinoids to the current state of agriculture using more and more pesticides there’s even been a few studies showing herbicides causing issues with bees by upsetting the gut flora. The most recent study is poor queen rearing and genetics and the last that I heard on it they were attempting to import drone sperm from Europe to attempt to raise better queens. Colony collapse is probably the number 2 cause of lost colonies number 1 being mites. The issue that I’m running into is I can’t get sugar to make bee feed cause everyone is panick buying it and when I go to buy it I usually get 300 to 400 pounds of sugar and then I look like I’m panick buying but it’s for the bees lol. The last time I went into town they told me I wasn’t allowed more than I 25lbs bag.

@Ode-Tom so what’s your preferd method of treatment I have been using oxalic acid most of the mite strip treatments seem to be hit and miss.

beekeeper84 I am not sure what you have in your area, but check restaurant supply businesses. They usually have or can get things in larger bulk. Makes it easier if you are distilling and less evidence to dispose of. LOL

beekeeper84 check with any candy making companies you might have near. They store liquid sugar and have to clean their silos. Most of the time the pump the waste down the drain. Brown and Haley here took the waste and gave to beekeepers to feed their bee’s saving the bee’s plus reducing disposal costs.
