Just planted the beans today before the rain hits again tomorrow, also got most of the squash seeds in as well. Spinach and beets are in, so now all I have left are pumpkins and they go in the compost bin, but I have to get the chickweed out first with the eco-friendly weed killer since the bee’s are busy.

scottfletcher Nice job with the cedar. I would have done wood as well, but the yard rats (moles) will tunnel under anything with an open bottom as well as a closed bottom. They don’t seem to like the plastic or the new traps.

Pro tip, invest in a couple drill augers to vastly reduce the time and effort it takes to plant a garden. You’ll be thanking me once you do.
I want to reiterate these tools are the biggest time and effort saver ever!

Not so good today folks, one of our dogs just died suddenly. I found her un-responsive in the back yard after she had been upstairs with her ball. She was only almost 4 years old. I am feeling pretty low right now and my wife is in tears. Had to find someplace to vent.
-
johnsbrewhouse sorry for your loss. They are family members just like kids
-
johnsbrewhouse That is terrible, I don’t know what I would do if that happened. I do know it hurts as we had one shot by someone years & years ago that was apparently trespassing on our property at the time. I am really sorry to hear about this. Hang in there.

John, We fell for you!
It took us a couple of days to get over our pet that had been with us for some time. I remember losing my brother when I was 8 and then losing my brother in law when I was 17! Different but not so much. Then there was losing my father and uncle, enough said,
SO sorry for your loss.

johnsbrewhouse It is never easy to lose a good bud (hairy or not) especially when both depended on one another. Hands are together for your family. The sting may get less but never goes away because they meant something to you. Take your time and celebrate their life. God speed.

johnsbrewhouse so sorry to hear. Had $3000 of vet bill this week for my 4mo old puppy, but I am lucky she pulled thru a stomach blockage. Your post made me remember I was lucky, and my heart goes out to your family losing a pup.
