Ceramic Kamado

Well, I couldn’t hold up anymore but didn’t want to spend BGE prices. I picked up this Char Griller instead. Super easy to use and I was amazed at how it holds heat! 225 for 5 hours I did my first rack of ribs on it. I think it will be getting plenty of use!

Nice, they do work great, I have a Primo XL that I picked up off of Facebook. One thing I did do was buy a Fireboard and the fan to go along with it, and hooked it my Primo and I can hold temps for hours on end without any intervention on my part. There is a thread on here where I talk more in depth about it, just search for Fireboard.

Nice! I’ve been wanting a ceramic cooker for some time but as you said the BGE’s are ridiculously expensive. The Fireboard stuff that Tex_77 mentioned seem like a great upgrade!

Joe Hell Looks for deals on Facebook, that’s how I found mine.

deplorablenc1 Nice purchase, we used to have the black olive pellet ceramic and anytime we were grilling or cooking here I would always go for that one, for straight smoking I still prefer the PK 100 but to be fair I am a total fanboy for that thing. They do a great job!

Joe Hell Sounds like you need an errand boy.

I think the vision was pretty good, especially for the price. I think I saw them in the $300 range & then the $500 range, so indeed way less than TBGE. I even liked some of the materials on them more than TBGE. However, my wife would not let me bite the bullet on it, so never got one. I have not seen them in a long time now.

calldoctoday They are still made, I’d go for something used and save some money.

Tex_77 There you go. Now you are talking. They can get a little difficult to find around here used, but every now & then you will see something pop up & you jut have to be ready. I am in no hurry & have much more time than money.
