I agree with protein extraction and also not stuffing them tight enough. About the stuffing If I see that I made the mistake I just twist at different lengths just to pack them tighter
FINISHING SNACK STICKS IN WATER

I have my first ever snack sticks ready for smoker tonight.I would like to finish them in hot water and was wondering how to do that?

RON PARRISH As long as you aren’t heating the water with a sous vide circulator. If you are doing that you run the risk of clogging the filter of the circulator.

I’m thinking that must depend on the circulator??? The Weston I have has no filter. Just the heating element and propeller sits in the water. -
PapaSop REALLY? Interesting…I was using this as the last reasonable excuse for not putting them directly into the water…Must be some of them that suck in the water and heat it as it circulates it. I am wondering if we should actually be calling it a circulator if it doesn’t circulate? I guess it sort of does since it propels water?

This pic is the Weston. The Vacmaster sv1 has a pump filter. The HBC looks to work much like the Weston.
