I’m looking for a larger pellet grill and trying to decide on one. Any suggestions?

Deepwoodsbutcher what’s your budget? What do you have now?
-
yoder smokers builded like a tank
-
The only one I have extensive experience with is my 36" Camp Chef, and I love it.

Bought a traeger at Costco (the 885 century), my first pellet grill and have been impressed so far (I haven’t even played with the wifi controls yet). Easy peasie to operated & assemble just took a few weeks for delivery. Only wish there was a rack in the front , but that would interfere with the warming tray (that I think I’ve got this figured out). Nice smoke ring on the pulled pork & ribs, good smoke flavor on the nuts also. Am wondering about smoking temperature schedule for snack sticks since it’s low temp is 160 i think, but I’m sure I’ll come up with a work around.

I have an older Traeger and a Blazn’ Grill Works, Gridiron model. I use the BGW most frequently due to good digital controls and easy empty of fire pot. Heavy steel.

Tex_77 $500 or so. I have a GMG davy crockett. It’s a little small for my upcoming projects. Looking to do more snacksticks, jerky and summer sausage.

Deepwoodsbutcher at that price range I’d probably take a look at the Camp Chefs Walton’s is going to be selling.

I had a GMG first, then a Rec-Tec and currently a Yoder. Yoder is the not the cheapest but built solid. Yoder was the best decision for me.
-
M. Saboe Ive had my eyes on a Yoder for years now. Just need the money. LOL

Deepwoodsbutcher My buddy loves his Pitmaster and it was around $500. He cooks on it non stop and for several years and has had no issues.

KenfromMI Sorry PitBoss not PitMaster

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I’m going to look at the camp chef some more.
-
Good luck. Let us know how it goes. Good to hear honest reviews by users.

Been using Green Mountain Davey Crockett model for 8 years now. No problems. Temp. goes down to 150 which is lower than most I have seen.
-
150 degrees is considered low heat for a pellet grill?

Hey curious which pellet smoker you ended up with if you got one? And are you happy with it? Was initially looking at the camp chef woodwind, recteq, and more recently the Yoder but still no where near decided on one. -
Surg If your budget is in Yoder territory check out Pitts & Spitts Maverick 1250. They even make one with a sidebox that holds 100F less than main chamber so is perfect for hanging sausage, etc. I have a 1250 in full stainless as my main cooker for BBQ.
