Meatgistics Podcast: Meatgistics a year-in review
Each week, Jon and Austin break out and critique a new beer and different sausage while they discuss everything about meat. Follow along as they talk about their favorite recipes and share some of the best expert tips and tricks for making sausage and jerky. Stay up to date on the latest news and current trends in the meat industry as Jon and Austin explore everything related to meat and more.
What we talked about:
#1 What did everyone cook - Yes, technically wasn’t begun this year but it really has become a major staple of the site
#2 Gardening, pickling and canning with 380 posts and 2,000 views this the 3rd best performing post of 2020. This is also something that is going to be useful to me in the long term because if I stay in my house, I am doing a garden, whatever the HOA says!
#3 [Color War]. It really makes things fun and I think is a partial reason for the community growth
#4 Snack Sticks great example of people helping each other out. JohninPA got lots of good help from blackbetty61, lamurscrapy and twilliams
#5 oronavirus really having an impact on business
#6 Topics for meatgistics live stream
#7 Homemade smokehouse from Brian Schneider kicked off an awesome topic with loads of cool pictures and how-tos. Snake river smokers posted an amazing pic of their smoker And Brians came out amazing
#8 Stressed out @twiliiams asks if anyone else gets stressed out while processing meat and boy did that hit home for me. It was nice to know other people have this happen
#9 No Pork Fat Bobbymac asking for replacements for pork fat highlighted what was one of the biggest issues for 2020 sausage making and that was finding enough pork fat
#10 PapaSop January meat run led to an awesome discussion and highlighting different seasonings. We forgive him for the L*M meatlugWatch Meatgistics Podcast: Venison Snackstick Tests

Tex_77 I made an exception for What did everyone cook but Drink of choice was 2019 I think? Otherwise it would have been on there

Another great podcast. First thing… Will be getting the new hat, not as “ORANGE” as the other but still looks good.
Lot’s of great post’s and info shared this past year. Looking forward to more.
Thanks for the shout. Yep, noticed that lug after the fact. Lol. I’ll get some Meatgistics stickers to cover them.
Was going to do another January meat run but getting pushed back a month while America’s Team ( Green Bay Packers ) are working on another super bowl trophy.

Jonathon that was a fun video to watch. Good job. I guess your orange partner did good too!
-
PapaSop My guess is KC - GB superbowl. Though, betting against tom brady is hard! I know he is 43 but with those offensive weapons, it hardly matters.

I guess someone must have injected Covid into the GB locker room! Packers just didn’t look like themselves.

I’m glad I was working so I didn’t have to watch it. Still proud to be from WI, and still a packer fan
