Hi I have searched for this topic but to no avail.
I wish to know why stuffed sausages in natural casings have a curve to them?
Kind regards

Andrew They are a natural product and are curved when they are inside the pig so they “grow” that way I guess would be the best answer?
Being an intestine, casings are naturally curved. If they were straight, all hogs and sheep would be 75 feet long and 3 inches in diameter.
Great makes sense, thanks
processhead hi! The outside of the casings expand (due to the amount of food intake) the inner part that form the intestine ( fat ridge) doesn’t! They measure the length by the inside (fat ridge) I hope this helps with your question, regards, Squzzi
