richie No, you are not alone, I turned them off the other day as they were slowing the site down from 2-3 CST every day to the point where many people couldn’t get on. Austin was able to fix this when we had this issue in the past and we were able to start sending them again. When the problem arose again we tried the same fix but it simply did not have the same effect. We are trying to figure out what we can do to start sending these again while not slowing down the website to the point where it is unusable for an hour a day. These are the growing pains we are trying to manage right now, it is a lot more fun to manage something that is growing rapidly but it does have its own challenges. Please be patient, we will get these turned back on in the next few weeks.

richie and others what would make the digest more valuable to you guys? I am trying to see if there is an opportunity here for an improvement. What if we listed the days top posts, either the most upvoted, most viewed or even an editors pick of a favorite?

Jonathon Is it not as simple as changing the time of day that they are sent out?

Hi im looking for a cure to make dried beef from either deer meat or a beef roast that i can smoke

Tex_77 Yes and No. Yes, we could just change it to an hour when we don’t have as much use but no because we want it to be at that time as that is when people tend to use it, so we want to encourage that.
HarleyMunneke Hi Harley, sure cure will work for what you are talking about if you are just wanting to impart the cured meat flavor. If you are wanting to do a mix of a seasoning and a cure then you could either add Pa’s Black Bull or use the [Corned Beef Cure Twin Pack])https://www.waltonsinc.com/corned-beef-cure-twin-pack) but that is for a lot of meat!
Another option (and this is probably the best one) would be to use a jerky seasoning. Pick a flavor you want and then the 1 oz sure cure comes with it. I have never done what you are proposing though, but I would think that would be the best option.
