Jonathon The pineapple did help to tenderize your chicken, it is a natural tenderizer with the Bromelain that it contains. Just don’t try using fresh pineapple in sausage, it eats the casings, and turns the meat to mush. I have experienced that a couple of time with my pineapple infused sausage experiments.

So, during a livestream, I think it was one of our larger monthly ones cause I remember Austin being there, someone talked about ERR showing on their display. I had seen this once before when I was trying to start the scale with something on it already so I assumed it was that. Yesterday, my scale started doing this. Contacted Escali and they gave me instructions to fix it.
Basically, you need exactly 2,000 grams, then with the power off, hold down both the power and unit buttons until the screen shows numbers in the range of 2,000-8,000. Then you gently place the 2,000 grams on the scale and it should say PASS and it will work again.
Hoping the person who was on the live stream sees this.

Jonathon so what did you use to come up with exactly 2,000 grams?
-
Tex_77 Lol, Ummm I used a combination of the cast iron bean pot and a vase that londyn had previously filled with rice and seasoning. I just removed (and then added) more seasoning until t was exactly 2000 grams
-
Thanks, Jonathon. I’ve had the “ERR” come up, but I’ve just fixed it by turning off the scale and turning it back on with nothing on it. That’s worked fine, so far, but it’s good to know a solution if that doesn’t work.
-
TexLaw Yeah, that wasn’t working for this one but I am happy to report that it is working perfectly now once I ran this reset. The problem is to figure out what 2 kg is you almost need another digital scale.
-
Jonathon Yeah, that is a trick. I do have another scale, so it wouldn’t be a big deal.
I also have a certified 1 kg weight for calibrating, but I guess I would need to get another one!
-
So I had this happen today. It is fun coming up with exactly 2000 grams. It did work and my scale is back to normal.

Grimpuppy looks like you have alot of free time
-
Grimpuppy Maybe I will go to a tire shop and get some of their wheel weights for balancing tires and weigh them out while scale is working and melt them down to form a weight.

bocephus that’s a great idea
. I think I’ll do the same. Thanks

Also note that 2 liters of water equals 2000g

Ridley Acres good to know thanks
-
Ridley Acres Thanks that might be easier than wheel weights, although I am still going to look into getting some.
-
bocephus As a Metrology Engineer, I recommend having a reference std on hand of a known value!
-
Ridley Acres Just make sure you adjust for the weight of your container!
-
Ridley Acres I was going to try and get set up with a standard before I had any trouble with the scale, then I would have it ready.
-
Looking back on it, I could have filled the jug in the middle with water till I got to 2000 grams instead of adding all the other things.

Yeah, but what you did was way more entertaining!
