Dr_Pain Never thought of that. I didn’t see any tracks in the snow though! LOL!

Thanks for the feed back -
Thanks for the response
I do some 25lb batches but mostly 15 since its just the wife and I.
Maybe i should look at smaller mixer like 30.Thanks AGAIN
-
PapaSop i have a weston 22 butcher series grinder, and it works with waltons 50# mixer. Maybe we aren’t talking about the same pieces of equipment?

Interesting. Just going by pics. Didn’t look like it would match up. Thanks! -
Midwest_kc For equipment clean up, it’s hard to beat a hose with a spray nozzle connected to your hot water line.
-
The issue with mixer to grinder comparability is the difference in hub size not the shaft itself. The shaft in all are 3/4" x 6 spline. The hub where the two pieces meet and clamp together are different in about every brand. LEM is the only mixer that is smaller than 50lb and quite pricey. The smallest batch I have used in my 50lb cabelas mixer was 15lb and it worked fine.
-
So is the mixer compatible with or is there an adapter that hooks to the old cabelas #22 grinder?
-
-
Nothing can be easy, gonna have to apply some redneck ingenuity and fab a collar to work as a shim.
-
FatMac_1186 Refresh my memory please. Thats an old Cabelas grinder (Weston butcher series) and a Waltons 50lb mixer?
-
FatMac_1186 May work without a shim. Have you tried it? thats only 5/16" difference. Your bolt should make up that small difference…
-
FatMac_1186 You might be able to find a thin flexible cutting mat to cut into strips to wrap around for your shim if its too sloppy
-
It won’t let me upload the video I took but there she be boys! 2" sch40 PVC, notch top, split the bottom & go to work. Fits like a glove!
-
FatMac_1186 It looks like a good solution, people always coming up with solutions on this sight.
-
FatMac_1186 Now that’s what I am talking about!! Well done Sir.

Knowing my grinder will not hook up to #50 mixer I’m now looking at the Walton’s #22.
Papa, are you saying your #22 Weston butcher series wont hook up to your #44 Weston mixer?? This PVC collar may be the answer to your 50lb mixer problem.
As much as I like my old cabelas (Weston Butcher) #12 I would never get rid of that #22! -
Good job, that should last for quite a while!

As much as I like my old cabelas (Weston Butcher) #12 I would never get rid of that #22!It will hook up to the 44# mixer. Thought I heard it won’t work with the 50#. But now FatMac_1186 came up with a mod so game on.

I wish I had the knowhow to do this. I would pay for this solution for my Weston Pro Series #22
-
Midwest_kc He used regular 2" pvc, cut to length, cut a notch, cut a groove. You could use either a hacksaw or coping saw for this task.
