bocephus I can only imagine it would be a great time. For me, just seeing the country out west would be great. Someday I WILL go, and to shoot a bull would be great, but even a cow would be tasty.

bocephus I also grew up hunting whitetails. I was lucky enough to shoot a bull elk in MT in 2018! It was a great experience and it is my favorite wild game meat! I also shot a younger mule deer buck in MT in 2016.

ND Mike It is very good meat that’s for sure. I grew up in MN hunting whitetail, also very good meat just not nearly as much.

@dennyo
Sounds “offally” delicious. Hehehe -
johng and I have to make 2 things this week. One is a sweet bologna that we are going to try new casings on and the other is a test for a new grinder system. Now, we could just do them both at once or we could make something cool out of the grinder test one. Anyone got a seasoning that they want to know what it is like that no one has tried yet? Cause if not we are making landjaegar sausage with Jagermeister instead of water. Someone recommended it or suggested it on a Livestream and it sounded interesting!

Actually it was a great hit!
As a youngin I could not stand anything “Liver” nowhere no how!!
What had changed for me is not cooking the hell out of it. I’ll say just take it to medium rare to at most medium.I also tossed in 2 deer hearts into the skillet. Any of you that like chicken, turkey or beef hearts, deer heart is better! Maybe I could have said "Any of you that don’t like chicken, turkey or beef hearts, deer heart way is better!

I had one deer heart from Dec 2018 and the other one was Dec 2020. I vac seal everything that goes into my freezers. Absolutely no freezer burn. I had 2 ribeyes that were hiding from early 2018 and after thawing them out I wouldn’t have known that they could have been fresh from the store. Goon-D-Bar!
