I upgraded from a #8 to a #22 about 15 years ago. I have been very happy with the #22, grinding 500 to 600 lbs a year with it.
Happy 4th of July!

Guys, just wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of July and say that I hope all of you are able to do some fun BBQ, Grilling, or Smoking this weekend and spend time with friends and family! I am fairly certain that the What did everyone cook today should have some awesome additions.
If anyone is looking to buy the Walton’s #8 Kitchen Grinder I just created coupon code July4th for $17.76 off of that item (192239) Posted something to social media with the ending tag of “still the best country in the world, make the best sausage in the world”…That’s why they pay me the big bucks! Okay, the small bucks but I’ll take whatever they will give me if I keep getting to do my job!

Jonathon I have failed you and this fine f***m. 2 large family gatherings this weekend and I made it clear I will NOT be smoking or grilling for any reason, so the meals are being catered. I am going to smoke cigars and drink and not be cooking ANYTHING (but my skin) I hope everyone has a great Fourth and don’t pop off any fingers!!
-
Happy 4th to everyone. Be safe out there. I will be working all weekend. Grill some good stuff for me to look at!!!

Departing Contestant I’m off the hook the next few days. I’ll be going to friends and family gatherings at someone else’s houses. (Both have pools) and only have to whip up some deserts.
To everyone reading this, have a great 4th and I pray you are able to spend some of it with friends and family. Since our founding fathers had the idea of independence, this is and has been the greatest country in the world. We are a country that is 245 years old and still a wonderful work in progress. Look at what we have accomplished in that short time.
To our friends in this community from other great countries, celebrate with us on this weekend. I will raise a glass to all of you. -
ND Mike
Be careful out there! I refer to these as amateur weekends. -

I prefer Happy Independence Day.
Lest we forget the reason for the holiday. -
processhead Couldn’t agree more. Thanks to our founding fathers and all the men and women who have served to insure that our independence is maintained.
A special thanks to all of our Meatgistics group that have or is serving. We wouldn’t be where we are without you.

That sounds soooo good.
My wife is making enhanced baked beans this weekend to go with smoked ribs and pork butt.
It is my brother’s recipe which he has described as 5 kinds of beans enhanced by caramelized brown sugar, molasses, and copious amounts of bacon.
What’s not to like! -
GWG8541 thank you Brother!
-
PapaSop thanks and that is so true!
-
processhead Those beans sound delicious. Of course, how can you go wrong with pork butt and ribs.
So, what’s for dessert?
-
ND Mike Watch out for all the crazies. I guess this will be a particularly difficult weekend.
Do you have any children? Prayers to comfort them and your wife.during this busy weekend.
-
Chef I do. I have 3 kids. They and the wife are pretty used to me working lots of weekends and holidays. Head on a swivel all the time.
-
ND Mike Don’t know if you can share the stories of the weekend - I’m sure they would be interesting.

Reported to be home made oatmeal cookies with coconut and crushed pecans. My wife’s adaptation of my Mom’s old recipe.
