JohnG5 if we do a meat-up down in Wichita for Meatgistics users we will have to make some of that dump cake!
-
ND Mike For sure. Until then I am stealing that recipe and trying it myself. My big plans for the weekend.

Had to check out the article on chicken wings. Unreal. Found a package at Sam’s the other day. $3.84 lb. Twenty pack.

PapaSop The article was a little short on some information to. They didn’t want to tell us about the Perdue Boys and their problems with their roosters. Seems they might have needs some Viagra help earlier this year, the roosters were under performing with the hens resulting in less production and a shortage of slaughter chickens.
-
PapaSop a little meat shop up here has chicken leg quarters on sale for .59 a pound. Rib eyes are back down to 9.99 a pound. It’s a little over a half hour drive for me, but well worth it. It’s just a little shop in cloquet mn called B&B MARKET

Thought I heard a tidbit about that awhile ago. First thought was, are you frigging kidding me.

PapaSop I can’t even find them at the local stores here in Kansas. Too bad I live in town or I would buy me some chickens. My mother, who grew up on a chicken farm, says the hardest part of chicken farming is catching them.

kyle prices here have come down or stabilized a bit. Still high but you can find most things. Pork butts at $1.49 but ribs are almost $6/lb. My local processor is about 2.5hrs away but puts out local quality meats and worth the trip with a cooler.
-
YooperDog Our pork butts have been at $1.49 for some time which I hope they don’t go any higher, I don’t even look at ribs or pork butts unless they go on sale.
-
YooperDog butts here are still 1.99 and up. I have a friend who’s daughter in law works at a meat distributor. I have not got any for a few months now, but when I got a case for the sons grad party, they were 1.05 a pound. ‘‘Normal’’ years I pay around .70 a pound.
