Is it ok to reduce seasoning amount?

Made the pheasant snack stick recipe and was very precise on the ingredients but found the final product overly salty. Is it ok to reduce the seasoning amount or will this cause safety issues?
It shouldn’t change safety wise so long as you keep the cure (pink salt) at the recommended rate.
