@zuper check out the Pepperoni Unit and make pepperoni sticks. We did this with goose and it was incredible, we also used 26mm cellulose casings for a skinless product and we just did this again with pheasant, both times it was killer. For an actual snack stick seasoning go with Willies and add high-temp cheddar cheese
What are you hunting/fishing?

processhead Paul, I agree that is probably about the simplest & easiest way to do it. I just don’t like dry firing at all & have always been against it. But, there is no doubt about it, the method is telling.

processhead yep, I use dummy rounds quite a bit when training people, especially with a hand gun. Dry firing is a great way to get them used to the trigger without the recoil to smooth out the flinching and teach trigger management.

GWG8541 with a hand gun I like to feel the trigger reset. Once in a while I can even hear it if conditions are right.

ND Mike oh yeah, its really pronounced on some guns. I have a few Glocks that are easy to hear, and I’m an old fat guy that can barely hear.

I am not aware of any mechanical issues of dry firing harming a gun with the possible exception of .22 rimfire guns and the firing pin peening the edge of the barrel chamber.
Of course all guns need to be considered loaded, even during dry fire drills, and drilla need to be conducted as such.

calldoctoday processhead Paul is correct. There are also revolvers and some older antique weapons that may have problems dry firing. If you are concerned about it, there are dummy rounds made specifically for that purpose. I am a factory armorer for Glock, Remington, Colt, Mossberg and a few other manufacturers. I have never seen a modern weapon damaged from dry firing. You may be shocked to hear that while I was in the Marine Corps we would dry fire or “snap in” hundreds of trigger pulls a day for about a week before hitting the week on the range.

GWG8541 You are both correct as I have really never seen any damage either, but have been stuck on the “no dry firing thing” from way back. Dummy rounds, I never had a problem with, but had a thing on dry firing & drilled it into my sons as well. But, you are both right as I have never actually seen any damage done when someone did it. Both of you guys have a nice Thanksgiving holiday with your families. I think it is about time for the 101 & cider tonight. Have a great Thanksgiving, I’ll have one for both of you!

My son Cooper scored on another buck. He’s a happy camper except for the fact that he’s now tagged out. But he wound up with 2 really nice bucks.
