Jonathon The only way to get better is to keep at it. I have been pheasant hunting for 50 years and still get startled by a close flush but that is part of the excitement.
What are you hunting/fishing?

Guns are great tools to have around. If you buy a new hammer, are you expected to get rid of an old one. Nope. Just another tool in the tool box. Also, guns are investments that appreciate over time. All my guns are worth more today than when I bought them. -
dawg I agree with you, they are investments. My wife doesn’t question me when I buy another gun, she loves to shoot them also.

Yep. When I was a kid, I bought a Remington 1100 shot gun for $250 from one of dad’s friends. Twenty five years later when my house got broke into, the insurance company said it was worth $1200+. I’m still hoping it is found and I get it back. I was called by a detective a few weeks ago and they found my deer rifle in Washington. (Long way from Kansas) Waiting on it to be shipped back so I can reclaim it. -
dawg I’ve been lucky so far. Haven’t had any stolen. Hope you get them all back. I know I have a few that have been handed down to me, that have a huge sentimental value and can never be replaced.

mrobisr Yeah, I handled a few different models and shot this one and liked it more than the others. Nice thing about belonging to the range is I get to shoot any hand gun I want for free. They just ask that I buy the amo from them, and honestly their ammo isn’t much more expensive than what I could buy online.
By far my favorite gun I have gotten to shoot so far is this gun from SilencerCo, it was like shooting a .22 -

dawg That is what I tell my wife, and she says they are only an investment if you are willing to sell them.

Jonathon what was the balance like on the pistol from the Silencer Co.?
Is the front of the slide metal or composite? It appears like it would be front-heavy, but you actually shot it so I was curious. -

They are a long term investment that will be worth something someday if my kids decide to sell them when I’m gone. -

bocephus that’s a NICE set of antlers! Now that I zoomed it in, that’s a couple nice set of antlers!

bocephus NICE looking bucks there. Hope you got your Elk! processhead Other than the lack of any kick, and I do mean any kick the balance was the most impressive thing. Yes, it was slightly front-heavy but nowhere near as bad as you would imagine. I am looking at getting a trust setup so I can have a silencer and if I do, this gun is firmly in my sites!

Jonathon I have an Sig P320 9mm in one of the carry models. The P320 is super easy to break down for cleaning. For CC I would get the smaller compact or subcompact models. One tip from a local gunsmith on the Sigs, Glocks, etc. If you purchase new and you find you’re getting some jams. Make sure the firearm is unloaded with the magazine out then lock the action open and leave that way for a week or two in your safe. This will help break in the recoil spring and do wonders for reliability.

Jonathon goid choice. The P320X is a good weapon. You shouldn’t regret buying it.

OleSmokey if you lock a semi auto handgun to the rear, you are compressing the recoil spring. I would never recommend it, but especially for a malfunction fix. If the gun is not functioning, figure out why. I am a Glock armorer and have been for about 25 years.
-
GWG8541 I went on advice of a gunsmith near me and it worked for my Sig P320, no more stove pipes. But apparently it is not a good idea for a Glock. I won’t question an armorer with your experience. Thanks for the info.

I am still packing my old colt .45 officer’s model, but will have to admit, it is getting heavy. I need to look into one of those lightweight models.
