GWG8541 Nope out of Ashtabula, OH. These are rare in Erie. Minnesota and the Dakotas see them in the Mississippi and Missouri rivers will see them, also with a hump back.

cdavis It’s funny to watch when the girls are sparring. I have caught them doing that on trail cameras a couple of times and seen them doing it from the tree stand once. Seems like a real battle, but it is usually pretty brief when it happens.

I got some great news last night when I got home from work. My daughter Katy who just turned 13 on September 27th asked me if she could deer hunt this year. Well my heart melted. She has gone hunting with me since she was 4 years old but had no interest in being the shooter. The last 2 years she quit going with me. So I’ll be trying really hard to get her on a good buck. I’ve got a couple picked out for her and told Cooper they are off limits for him.

cdavis I cherish the times when my kids go hunting with us. I’m happy for you that she wants to go! More time with them as teenagers is a huge bonus.

Yesterday was the ND pheasant opener. We took our 1.5 old pup out and she did great. Just no birds but her working pattern was fun to watch. We had to leave the old boy at home though. The last time we took him out on a 2 mile walk this past Winter he couldn’t hardly walk for two days afterward. My daughter said he whined when we left and howled because he was left at home. Sad to watch them get old.
