Chef I am also praying that we can get everyone out who wants out and that no more of our troops have to pay the ultimate price or are injured.

Agreed, terrible situation going on over there.

Something not in the news is North Korea. Listened to a Rogan podcast the other day with an escaped North Korean guest. Terrible things go on there everyday to tens of thousands of people….has been for 80 years. 😕 no one does anything about it either.

Chef the last report I saw was 13 US Military were killed today in the suicide bombing. I received a call from one of my closest friends today. He retired from the Corps last year and now lives in Texas. Needless to say we both vented over the phone. Its just unimaginable what is going on right now. Prayers for all of the troops trying to do their jobs over there and their families waiting for their return. Ill bite my tongue on the lack of leadership being displayed. I had to turn off the TV.

GWG8541 my heart is heavy for the loss of our BIA. I am in agreement with with you and have vented and sat in silence to try to understand and make peace. Unfortunately right now I think that it is going to be a long journey to get there. Instead, right now I broke open a bottle I was saving for something special. I will tip my glass and salute to those troops who were KIA and WIA and their families because the majority of us will never have to bear that burden. My prayers and thoughts are with them.

YooperDog its sounding like most of the lives lost today were Marines and a Navy Corpsman. To my brothers. Semper Fi20210826_221530.jpg

GWG8541 makes my blood boil! 12 Marines and a Corpsman. We should go in their full tilt and fight like we did before the stupid rules of engagement we have. Fight to win like in WW2.

The entire situation, from beginning to end makes me mad and sad, more mad than sad. Noone who was involved in getting us or keeping us or how we got “out” is clean from this. Glad we were able to keep this nonpolitical though, I have to admit I was afraid when I saw the title of this post. I know that is INSANE to hear from me, I rant on the podcast too often about politics and society but we are trying to get away from that and back to at least 70% meat processing information.

This is not politics as far as I am concerned, it is Americans and our Allies and we need to do our best to do what is right. I pray for the people over there and also for all that served and are seeing what is currently going on over there, right or wrong. We are proud of what you have done for us and if you need any help please reach out and ask for it, you have friends and others trained to help. Again accept our thanks for keeping us safe all these years.

Jonathon A good mix of social trends is helpful to keep everyone engaged. Our lives do not revolve around meat, sausage, processing…

Anyone who chooses to be offended can just not watch the podcast. I know by some responses and topics, there is a great deal of diversity among the Meatgistics family. I can’t ever recall where a difference of opinion was attacked. Nothing wrong with boarding our perspectives. Everyone one is entitled to be wrong. LOL

And I’ll state for the record that I am very saddened to see the direction this country has gone. I have too many family members and friends that fought for what was once America to just roll over and play dead. There is more than just one person who has blood on their hands and I’m so happy that I will not be the one in judgement in the end.

I try not to be too cynical but based on last 10 years of history in the region, did anyone think this would have ended differently than it did?

Nothing I saw about the two sides (the side we were supporting and the side we were fighting against) and their commitment to their respective causes, that gave me much hope that when we pulled out things would end differently than they did.

I am not sure we really understand how other cultures view and value Democracy like we do here. The tribal, religious, and cultural differences between us and those in some other parts of the world are just too great for us to think everyone wants to be, or has the commitment to be like us.

I have nothing but respect and admiration for the men and women in the military who get ordered to these parts of the world by civilians, and are too often given a mission that is outside the scope of what they are trained to do (break things and kill people).
    Rant over.

    Paul

Personally I’d like to give the Taliban a welcoming gift on their return to control of Afghanistan to go along with all the technology and hardware that we are giving to them.

processhead Fully agree with everything you said. There is no way I could fully understand the perspectives at play, haven’t lived their life. Much of this has been going on for 1000’s of years. We do know the history of all the tribes. They didn’t get along 3000 and 4000 years ago any better then they do today.

We needed to get out of there. What can not be excused it the method used to leave.

With all my heart, soul and being, I do believe that there has been and that we presently have political leadership in positions that want to destroy America. We have allowed them to do so.

Those who value what was built upon the foundation of our founding fathers need to speak up.

I’ll just end this by saying that I will pray for all those affected.
I will pray for a peace in the hearts of men that display nothing but heartrate. I invite all those who believe in prayer to join me. God hears the voice of many.

Okay, just like you, processhead, I’m off my soapbox, at least for now.

I just don’t have anything to say. You would probably best not get me started as what I might have to say is not very nice. On the other hand, I understand the difficulty of it all & trying to get the job done. I am saddened though for our brothers & sisters over there & their family’s back here at home. It is all just real sad & makes me real mad. They are just trying to do their duty, while a whole lot of other things that I better not talk about, get in the way.

calldoctoday Amen, a Marine LtCol was relived of duty yesterday for speaking out via social media video about the current lack of leadership in our country. He even acknowledged that he would be fired for doing the video. So a Marine with 17 years of being an Infantry Marine has jeopardized his career to ask for accountability. With 3 years left to retire and to draw a government pension, he spoke out. He did not give away secrets or talk about secured information. He simply asked for accountability from those above him. I fully underunderstand how the chain of command works and knew he would be relieved when I read the first news article on it and viewed the video. Its sad that he felt he had to do this, but he definitely has my respect. He calculated the cost, but still chose to do what he thought was the right thing. As a Marine, you are taught certain values, but at its base it is God, Country, and Corps. Its nice that he still recognized those values and the order they should come. Im pretty sure to many others insert “me” in there first. Most of the people in his chain of command could learn a few things.

GWG8541 for sure. We need many brave men and women to take a stand like he did. When I read about this Marine, I was so proud of him. He knew he would lose everything and he did it anyways… I bet he was a Marine’s Marine and his men loved him!!!

My wife who works in health care just took a stand against her employer. She worked at a private family practice clinic and he mandated covid shots by Nov. 1. He said get the shot or you will be terminated. He wouldn’t allow any exemptions. My wife and 4 co-workers walked. My wife worked for him for 10 years! The Docs own nurse who had been with him for over 20 years walked away! I’m proud of my wife and her co-workers! It’s gonna be scary going with one income until she finds something but we will just put our faith in God. He has a plan for all of us.

Chef we have not had good leadership for many years now. Everyone does what is good for them, not the good of the country. Too much money involved, and until that is out of politics, we wont have good leaders. I am with you on the praying.
This is all I will say in our wonderful meat community about this topic. I come here to get away from this s××t.

hey vegetarians, my food poops on your food!
