A cheese only a cheesehead will know?

Just curious if anyone has heard/had this type of cheese that is not a resident of Wisconsin? So here is my secret that I was gonna do but decided to share now anyways as I am waiting for the highs to be in the 40’s to start processing again. With this delicious cheese I am gonna finely cube and place into nacho cheese snack sticks in place of the typical high temp cheese that you would normally use. I’m not quite sure if I’m gonna fry it first or just cube it the way it is. I’m quite excited to try it, this may be my cheese for all sausages where I use cheese if it works.

twilliams grew up in WI, know of it. In the UP the Finn’s up here have a similar type called Juusto cheese. I never tried it for what your plan is, good luck with the experiment.

HerbcoFood yes sir, i want to get that kind as well as another that is made close to me and try all three to see the difference in texture and taste then then use the best one in the sticks. Not really sure its gonna impart much of the buttery flavor i am hoping with all the nacho seasoning but hey we dont know if we dont try right.

twilliams I just want to go buy some now, warm it up, lay bacon over it with some fresh sliced avocado and call it a day!

bocephus During the week is my favorite for opening day, less people so the birds have a better chance of flying over me!!!

HerbcoFood Have a friend in TX that has access to a couple of pretty good spots, other hunters out but spread out enough just to keep the birds moving.

HerbcoFood bocephus I tried dove hunting and can’t seem to hit flying objects. Those things are fast little zippers.
HerbcoFood I am the original poster that posted about the cheese, not sure if Jonathon has even seen this post. I live in the same vicinity as where they make this wonderful cheese. I’m just not sure if any of their ingredients is gonna counter react with my snack sticks ingredients. We shall see

twilliams Don’t think you’ll get any more “taste” out of it by frying it first. But, it’s a great cheese to use instead of high temp cheese for sure. I’ve seen that type of cheese a number of times. But, just not from that manufacturer. I’ve used it for dessert and it was well received.
