Steel prices are triple of what they were a year ago and the supply is limited.

Oh, please. You think Biden caused this global pandemic? Can we leave politics at the door here?
Early in pandemic, many steel mills slowed/stopped production fearing a major recession when in fact, there was a boom in a way with people buying stainless products (grills, fridges, etc). Now that that that has slowed, major industry is ramped back up and demand for steel is outpacing the mills. This is much like what happened with lumber (though lumber is cooling as is was mostly driven by homeowner/builder demand - not major industry like steel).

SS prices jumped according to the manufacturer. We talked about it on a recent live stream. I’d say if you listened to what Austin and I have been talking/warning about for the past 8 months we are about to be proven correct, this is almost certainly not the last vendor that is planning on doing similar things.

Tex_77 Sorry Tex but I come to this site to get away from that stuff.

I was just ready to finally order one too. Had sent an email a couple of times and never heard back from anyone. Then was kind of waiting to see if Waltons was going to “brand” one of their own since I think Jon mentioned it on a stream a while ago. Then get on to see about ordering one and the price is ridiculous now.

Tex_77 Hard to hide the truth.

If I remember correctly c*****s used to have one branded to them… I saw it on YouTube. I understand an increase but almost 25%???
Maybe it will come back down
-
The thing about smokers is you will have it for a very long time, yes the upfront price sucks. But think about how many years you are going to own it, over time it will be a drop in the bucket.
-
Yeah, the upfront price is steep and might or might not come back down but depending on how often you will use it I would say it is worth it still. Though it’d hurt to hit that complete order button!

I’m located in Bozeman MT.

Jonathon That’s the exact thought I had back in 2005 when I purchased my first Traeger(a Lil’ Tex ) @$699.00! Now it’s 2021 and I still have it. That’s about $33 per year! I was skeptical, but one day as I was looking at it online, the Wife says, “quit looking and just hit the button!!”. I did and no regrets. Opened up a whole new world of outdoor cooking. Little did I know that a couple of years later the Wife would want her own Traeger( a full size Texas)!

Jonathon Price of propane here says I need to go back to stick burning only except for things that need to be smoked real cool. Then maybe I need to re-convert that chicken house back to the ol smokehouse it used to be 100 years ago. Propane has doubled & doubled now again in the past year & a half or so.
