Smoker humidty idea????

I radomly ran across this video about adding steam to home ovens for bread making. Any opinions if this would be an effective method for adding humidity to smokers.

Have you seen the Anova Precision Oven? A new counter top combi oven with steam injection and humidity control. So obviously it won’t smoke and is only about half the size of a small smoker but it is the idea of humidity control that has me curious.

Inkbird sells a humidity pid that would control the steamer. I think it has a heat limit though. Not sure how it would work over 200?

craigrice i was thinking this idea as an alternative to a water pan using sponges & towels. Would lava rocks evaporate more h2o compared to sponges?
