Grimpuppy you need to find a Dillons and not a Walmart.
-
I know it’s freaking crazy, just crazy how location has different prices as well. At my grocer you can get a whole beef tenderloin for $19.99/lb.

Grimpuppy no Dillons in Concordia, that surprises me. For that price, you can buy way better meat than Walmart meat.

Grimpuppy $12.97 per pound was already ridiculous, sadly to say. You know, they say when you find yourself in a hole, quit digging. I guess that does not apply to inflation.

Tex_77 our population is only 3,000. Only reason we have the Walmart is because the highway goes through the middle of town. We look bigger based on what you see along the highway when you come through town, but that is pretty much it. Everything else away from the highway is residential.

Grimpuppy Restaurant Depot is a wholesale cash and carry commercial restaurant and food service supplier.
While the best deals are on case quantities, cases can be broken. When meats and produce are nearing their expiration date, great deals can be had. I’ve gotten strip loins for as low as $2.79 for choice and rib loin for about $4.00.
Can also get many items that are not available in typical retail stores.
There are three locations in the Houston area.

Chef They had un-graded rib eye primals here last month for $5.79 lb at our Restaurant Depot. They disappointed us because they didn’t have any. We are having troubles with one of the major distributors UNFI up here. They had a major COVID outbreak is the distribution center and closed it for two weeks. Has affected my other source too US Foods for meats, but those guys have turned greedy now by raising prices beyond retail.

johnsbrewhouse It is becoming hard to tell if a price is based on greed or supply. Some prices are just way out of line, Is it supply of taking advantage of the situation???
-
Are there people actually paying those prices?
-
Ridley Acres Yes, people are still buying meat.
-
We should do a meat strike and become VEGE… I could not even finish that word!!!
I think the end game will be that we will form some better community bonds with our farmers and bypass the “industry”. If we have some farmers on the board they should identify themselves and start thinking about offering some primal cuts to their brothers on the board. I would be happy to Venmo some Christmas money in return

grilled okra is a side, not a main dish
