Carne Seca?
-
This weekend I had to stop into the local dollar store, or general or whichever to get some supplies for my wife. As I am checking out I see a bag of jerky that is Chile Lime, but it isn’t jerky, it is Carne Seca. It is an air-dried steak that is seasoned with spices and lime. I am wondering if anyone here has made it before? if not, it is absolutely on my list.

Jonathon No Sir - Never heard of it

According to jerkybyart dot com “Carne Seca can indeed be the same as beef jerky if that jerky is marinated and not too dry.”
This sounds like the beginning of a debate

Ridley Acres I had never heard of it before yesterday so there will be no argument from me. But I will be making some or at least some version of it!

Jonathon Carne Seca in NM is usually cut thin and air dried, I don’t care for it too much as it is like a meat potato chip and I like my jerky thicker and chewier.

personally I don’t like the taste of lime so other than a taste I would probably not make any
