I love my ThermoPro TP826 always works and has more than enough range for me. I occasionally check it in boiling water and it’s always spot on.

I’ve got a thermopen classic and do like it, I’ve had some issues with the on switch not wanting to turn the unit on right away when I fold out the probe. If/when this one takes a dump, I’ll give warranty a try but if that fails I am going to switch over to Lavatools Javelin. I got one of those for each of my brothers, they seem to be a really good instant read for a fraction of the cost of Thermoworks.
For my pit thermometer, I’m using the original fireboard. A local farmer’s son is one of the founders and they are based out of KC. They’ve got a new unit out now, which looks like they’ve added some new useful features. The original one that I have does have wifi and bluetooth transmission to the smartphone app, programable high/low alerts and saves charts of your cooks.

Dr_Pain Sounds like you are going out to eat a lot.

For wireless I went with The Meatstick. It is fragile and cant take a flareup. But it works well on indirect and smoking. Last pork shoulder took 7 hours and there was plenty of battery left

samspade Thinking a meatstick would be good for my rotisserie.

I like mine. I burned on up with a rapid flare up. Also bought the whole bridge off ebay and a probe and bridge were not working. On the flair damage customer service replaced free. In the two others did not warranty(not original buyer) but gave me 1/2 off replacement. When everything works I like it.
