Dr_Pain This is exactly why Jonathon can’t be trusted, he’s to skinny.
Now that is just funny!! Looking at past videos and seeing that Austin “evolved” and Jon didn’t I was wondering if he was just a hype man or if he actually cooks

Dr_Pain I think I am to the right on that scale as well.

Dr_Pain yeah I think if I was given a choice it would be Austin’s food over Jonathon’s for that reason alone!

Dr_Pain All too true, and I have 30 years into this…

Austin evolved a few years ago and it was basically all at once (as soon as he got married or thereabout) mine has been over the past 12 or so months and I have been fighting a controlled retreat the entire time. I regain some ground and then something happens and oops a pizza appears in front of me!

I think my cardiologist wished I liked diet and exercise as much as I like food and eating. The struggle is real.

I fired 2 cardiologist so far because they keep saying I should diet and exercises. I normally am a fairly fit 6’6" 250lbs with a little of the dad bod. I am married to a dietician and we eat well. I’ve been a practicing PT for 26 years and have exercise pretty much all of my life. I can gain and drop weight like nobody’s business and it will not affect my BP or resting heart rate. I bike ride between 50-80 miles per week, lift weights and work physically during the day
The first cardiologist reluctantly put me on 2 BP meds which did help the BP but he also told me to eat better and exercises more. A blind recommendation since he did not know me. Well I went on a strict paleolithic based diet and would bike ride 20 miles/day on top of my regular long rides on the weekend and the rest. I was consuming about 3200 calories a day and dropped from (at the time) 260lbs to 209lbs and this is where they put me on a 3rd BP med, I changed the diet to a keto friendly and gained some weight back to around 224lbs and this is where they put me on my 4th. I said “You’re fired!” and went back to normal healthy eating and at 245-250lbs my BP was good enough to eliminate 1 of the BP med.
Found a new cardiologist and he gave me the same song and dance and at that point the only diet I had not tried was vegan, so I went vegan for 6 months and gained 15lbs (up to 265lbs) and I told him “Goodbye”. My internist ran a bunch of test, had my prior stress and nuclear stress test and did a CT scan to make sure I did not have some tumor on my kidneys and/or stenosing of my arteries which would explain my high BP and basically told me that I had Familial Hypertension and that there was nothing I could do about it other than being on meds for the rest of my life. He actually mentioned that the added stressors (physical and psychological) on my body was actually worse than my elevated BP

Dr_Pain Read “The Metabolic Storm” by Dr. Emily Cooper. She is my Dr. I have metabolic disorder, I don’t fit models that doctors use to diagnose people either. My mother was a RD as well and read her book and was rather amazed at what she has concluded. I weighed 400 lbs. at one time and always struggled to keep weight off, exercise and all. I ended up having gastric surgery and still struggle with the metabolic disorder, but am able to be healthier eating the way she wants me to. Butter, eggs and all those things that are suppose to be bad for you, but also eating things good for you with them as well. Salt was my biggest enemy, but through a reduction in how I use it, it no longer has negative effects. Although I am still considered overweight, my cholesterol, B/P, triglycerides and particulates in my blood are all good. A lot of Dr’s. just shove people into a perfect model for their diagnosis and treatment, my dad did this as an R.N. since this is what they are and were taught and it’s even worse now that insurance companies have become involved.

I remember some old timer used to say that if they knew what they were doing doctors wouldn’t call it a practice. lol
