I got back in town late last night after a way too short weekend to east Tennessee. Part was for relaxing in the mountains and part was to visit family. With the intent of spreading the Meatgistics gospel while visiting family, I visited my cousins newly operational meat house in Baileyton, Tennessee. They built the slaughter house after having problems getting their own beef slaughtered when COVID hit. They have been open for a little while now and are swamped, doing only custom beef at the moment. What started as a part time venture a few times a week, has turned into a full time occupation. As I walked in the front door I took this picture.

They are already on the right track and already a Walton’s customer. I did preach the advantages of using Meatgistics, he said he has looked at it, but doesn’t have the time for anything but work and sleep right now. They are working 7 days a week and not much free time. Their plans for the future are expanding into the retail meat market for their community. They are definitely doing it right and the building was awesome to tour. Its going to be a ton of work, and I’m praying for their success and time to become part of the Meatgistics community.

GWG8541 Sounds like they are going about it the right way, don’t expand too fast, build their clientele first, good luck to them.

Sheesh! Kudos to them. If I was to build a business for all the Covid frustrations we had I would have at least 100 businesses going. Can’t wait to hear about their success story. They should consider some online meat market for the Meatgistics people. We could support them 🙂

GWG8541 Very proud for them to step up to the plate. See, some businesses did flourish during the isolation. Good for them.

Dr_Pain you know, its my first cousins son and is definitely more tech savvy than I’ll ever be. He quit his full time corporate job to dive into this full time. He is a good young man and has a great work ethic. He has already been talking to me about the sausage making part, so he has a vision of where he is headed.

New butcher shop in vegas. Fetherlight butchers. The offer classes on butchering and if you order Full, 1/2 or 1/4 they say you can come and watch while they cut and pack your animal. Have not been by there yet but soon.

I support my local meat markets. This has become an almost lost art. They provide a great service to the community. The large conglomerates can keep their meat.

GWG8541 That is an amazing man, thank you! This story of people opening their own processing plant are awesome to hear. Decentralized slaughter/processing is a really good idea in my opinion. I checked to make sure and he does have a commercial account so awesome all the way around!

Jonathon Hopefully there will be more local butcher shops opening and working with local farmers to process their animals. One just recently opened in my home town and it is getting good support from the locals.

Jonathon his Mom (my first cousin) and his dad both work full time jobs, but were there on Sunday helping him get things done since business is booming. The young man just recently had his first kid also. He is definitely a worker.

Jonathon a couple of months ago a guy I know was building a processing plant just outside of Ada Oklahoma. He knew I did my own processing and sausage making so he asked about my seasoning. I took your catalog to him and showed him all of my favorites. He was impressed with all Waltons had to offer. Hopefully he will become a commercial customer also.
