Jonathon Sweet, thats the first gun I bought both of my boys.

You pretty much have to decide if you want a gun safe or a gun cabinet. Safes generally start at about $1000, locking cabinets can be had for much cheaper. Safes offer more protection and are usually fire rated. It really is like everything else in life, the more you spend the better you get.

Jonathon there are alot of safes out there. Some are fire rated some are not. Many of the “safes” on the market are glorified gun cabinets. If you want to spend a little more, Liberty makes a good product. I bought one for work and really like it as far as build and security. I have two at home, one is a Remington branded safe with no fire resistant material inside. The other is a Sentinel by Stack On and it is fire rated, which basically means its lined with drywall inside. You need to consider where you will be putting it when it comes to fire rating. I would worry more about the security end and ease of access when needing to get in. We also have a lightweight safe at work that is marketed by Hornaday that has an RFID lock system for easy access with the RFID tag. My favorite one at home is the Sentinel/Stack On. It has an electronic keypad. What ever you buy, make sure it gets bolted down from inside. During my career, I saw a lot of safes carried away from houses and businesses and some were pretty darn big.
