Meat and Poultry Inspection Readiness Grant (MPIRG) program funds being distributed
According to Meatingplace.com, $32 million in grants have been distributed to 167 meat processing facilities from the United States Department of Agriculture as part of the Meat and Poultry Inspection Readiness Grant. This funding is for improvement or expansion of processing facilities and to help facilities become compliant for a Federal Grant of Inspection or a Cooperative Interstate Shipment Program.
In June, the USDA announced a total of $55.2 million MPIRG funds to be distributed.
