no_eyes_processor First, I recommend you always run at higher wattage. Lower wattage seems to be an option they installed for R&D reasons as far as I can tell? Second, I am guessing your base unit for your Meater + is out of batteries, it does take 1 aa or aaa in the back of the unit. We can talk about this afternoon when we call you?
PK100 cover
-
Hey all!! My PK100 should be arriving in a couple of weeks. Has anyone found a quality cover that fits it? Mine will be kept in the garage but still want to keep it covered.
Thanks! -
Not yet. Only started looking. Was trying to check and see if any of the masterbuilt cover would work but was difficult finding measurements listed. Checked home depot covers.
Found a site you could custom order one but it was on the expensive side -
I want to keep coved also. Mine sits on the porch but a couple weeks ago when I picked it up and sat on my porch I found stink bugs inside it because the exhaust vent doesn’t close. It had big gaps that bugs can crawl into. I also tried looking into pvc pipe caps to stick on it. The 3" caps actually measure 3 1/2 " inside and that should work but I am trying to find something that will fit a bit tighter

Bgoofy1 Maybe look at a canvas shop see if they could sew one up, or an upholstery shop I would think they would be able to make one, don’t know what cost would be though.

any place that makes truck tarps can also do the job

I don’t have a PK100, wish I did, but wouldn’t a swamp cooler or air conditioner cover work? They come in many different sizes and materials.

Bob Stehlik That may be viable if they are long enough.

I wanted to follow up on this. I did order a cover from https://www.coversandall.com/. With the COVID situation, it took three months to get here (I think the original estimated time was about 3 weeks), but it was well worth the wait. I like this cover. It seems like very good quality–very heavy duty. I did get the “Cover Tuff” fabric, which is the most expensive, but I got it with the intention that my PK 100 will live outside in the elements. I like to buy things only once, if possible, and I don’t expect to have to replace this cover anytime soon at all. It ain’t much to look at, but I didn’t buy it to look at it.

For everyone’s reference, these are the measurements I used:
Height : 48"
Width : 22.5"
Depth : 21"
If I were to get it again, I would probably put the height at 46", as I neglected to figure in that it would hang down from the control panel. It’s so long that the cover gets under the castors when I roll it around. That’s no big deal because I can just hitch it up a little when I move the cooker around, but it’s also a waste of fabric and money. I wouldn’t change the width or depth, though. If it were any tighter, it would be too difficult to put on, but any looser would be a waste of fabric and money.Other than the fabric, I didn’t add any upgrades. The drawstrap tiedowns sounded good enough for me, and I’m happy I went with those. They look to be good quality, as well and include clips, so that you only have to adjust the once.
The total cost was $62.01, including shipping and the “welcome” discount they were running at the time.
Great product!

I used the company that TexLaw suggested as well as the the suggested measurements that he indicated he would use if he were to order it again. works great !!!

Just a thought… Depending on where you live keeping it in the garage my cause your unit to rust due to high moister levels. Be carful…

I bought a universal 29"grill cover at Home Depot that has velcro on the sides. So far has worked well even in wind storms. We currently have on our cement patio but will be moving inside basement for winter. I worry about freezing temps damaging the electronic controls.

I bought this. $19 when I got it, now is $23.
It is too big but the velcro at bottom locks it on tight. Only used a few times as decided to just roll it into garage when not using. Huge Plus: Garage now smells wonderful.

Jamieson22 looks like the link was removed?

Mcjagger do these measurements leave the 1-2” leeway the company recommends?
Thx -
Bgoofy1 It was amazon. Just add that in or search for that product number at end of link.
But it is the “SunPatio Smoker Cover 40 inch, Heavy Duty Waterproof Electric Smoker Grill Covers, UV and Fade Resistant, Square Gas BBQ Smoker Cover for New Model Smokers Masterbuilt, Char-Broil and More”
28"x22"x39" option.
