Happy New Year/Top Posts

Happy New Years! I probably say this every year because I pay so little attention to what the Month is (aside from the sales/giveaway stuff) but how is it 2022 already? Seriously, the last 2 years have absolutely flown by! This year has brought ALL SORTS of challenges from the Walton’s side, website migrations, issues, vendors and new products all took up a huge amount of time. I do most of that without any complaint though, that’s a lot of the “worky” part of my job that allows me to do the stuff like live streams, podcasts, and making videos on meat processing, so I do it mostly with a smile. However, in the last 2-3 months one thing has been happening that I am not okay with, and that is those things taking me away from the Meatgistics Community. JohnG5 has done a good job keeping me up to date on what has been happening but its not the same. I am still paying attention to the best of my abilities but I can state with almost absolute certainty that next year (after the 1st quarter) will be better! I will be more present on meatgistics and we will make more processing and fun videos! That is my main New Years resolutions this year!
In the past I have ranked the top ten posts from the previous year. This year I am going to list them without ranking them because I am a sissy and don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings! No, I couldn’t figure out a way to rank them effectively!
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/4746/christmas-candy from GWG8541 talks about making Peanut Brtille with his parents, then proceeds to try to make me cry! Seriously, for anyone who missed it, this is a nice story about family, traditions and generosity!
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/4232/labor-day-weekend from Chef Helping everyone remember it actually IS more than just an extra day off!
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/4406/bacons-done from John Belvedere Proves once again that Bacon is a Meatgistics favorite! I especially like the yellow trays he got somewhere!
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/4600/breaking-down-deer-some-basics A VERY useful post by processhead on home deer butchering and he includes some nice pics and made them into step by steps to be even more helpful!
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/4639/no-turkey-for-me-this-year From Joe Hell making ridiculously good looking Reubens that he ordered from Katz’s in NY! Making me miss …well its not home anymore, Kansas is home now but miss my old home!
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/3655/smoked-portobello-mushrooms lkrfletcher (once again THANK you for the Pecans, they were amazing!) used Ultimate Steak and Roast Rub on some Portobello Mushrooms and let’s not ignore those gorgeous shrimp!
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/3896/desperate-times No surprise that twilliams made me laugh as did a response from ND Mike
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/3923/memorial-day Another from GWG8541 this time reminding people who forget that THIS day matters more than your BBQ.
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/4185/interesting-day-at-work BBQ and…Babies? ND Mike played Delivery Doctor for a day!
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/4460/bringing-my-a-game Dr_Pain Has had a tough year (we all know that story) but not too long ago he was making awesome food plates!
https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/4019/electric-smoker-or-landfill-what-say-you processhead again with his awesome story about turning an old fridge into a new toy and possible $ maker! Anyone who is wanting to make their own smoker will find this post an enormous help!
And finally, some guy name Ryan lies about his name being tex and tells us what he likes? https://meatgistics.waltonsinc.com/topic/3855/tex-s-top-picks No, this is a great post by Tex_77 listing out some favorites in the different seasoning categories, Equipment, Knives, Grills, and other supplies!
