I would be mighty leery of that Hobart, somebody spend a lot of time refinishing it to look like it does and be surprised that it came from KFC and used for only mixing potatoes
-
johnsbrewhouse it does seem to be in awfully good shape for being used daily in a kfc.

johnsbrewhouse yep, the paint appears newer than the machine. If someone wants to contact a Hobart service center with the serial number and spec number, you could find out the year. The first KFC store opened in 1954 in Corbin, Ky. Don’t ask why I know this and yes I have eaten there. This machine could very well predate most of their restaurants. It doesn’t mean its not worth picking up, but the info may be good to negotiate a lower price. Those things are tanks.

Worth checking out the service history on the mixer.
I would expect KFC franchisees would perform regular maintenance on their kitchen equipment. This could include external work like painting an older piece of equipment since KFC probably expects their kitchens to look reasonably clean and well maintained. The whole public perception thing. -

processhead Yes, if it was a well run KFC. Unfortunately that cannot be said about some of the KFC’s here in Wichita
Still it would definitely be worth looking into if it fit the need/want -

Gmoran I wish that was not so far from WI. That would be great for pizza dough
A day drive… Pick me up on the way.

Sheesh I would love a machine like that but can’t sacrifice the footprint… or my space in the bed with the boss (who would not be happy)
Any more, I don’t worry about the foot print. It’s the mobility. If its not on wheels and can’t be moved, it becomes an obstacle.
