Spring is right around the corner…in about two more months. lol
So it's old...
-
Just thinking about this while washing for the umtenth time. Guess we probably all have a piece of equipment we just can’t depart with. Here’s mine.
Should have thrown this years ago but,
Has seen the grill, smoker, oven and stovetop. Perhaps “magic” brownies back in the day.
Comfort thing? Who knows.
If it ain’t broke… -
PapaSop nothing wrong with that. I am sure its better than a lot of the new stuff they make now. I have pans that look like that, I think they came from my grandparents, passed to my parents, to me.

PapaSop I think I have it’s twin. We used it for pizza, brownies, roasting nuts and I use it for hand shaped breads. Like calldoctoday said; “ it’s just getting broken in”. It’s become part of the family.

PapaSop I think I have the match to that pan
-
PapaSop I am a creature of habit and have a hard time throwing out useful items. I see a pan with character!
-
PapaSop I do have some new one’s for people who are over. But, do have one that has seen probably as many environments as yours. It and I’m happy keeping it around.

bocephus Now that’s a knife (and the perfect background to show it off).

That looks like something the original Marines used for ship-to-ship fighting!

These were originally my moms, she gave them tome when I moved out on my own in the early 80’s. She had bought them in Germany when they were stationed there. She had other baking pans at her house when she passed that were older than these, they were embossed and I believe they belonged to my grandmother. My sister took those. They all looked like these, my mom baked a lot.

bocephus I have one like that just about passed down with elkhorn handle. The problem with mine though is over 45 years ago, someone I knew that was visiting did something with it & broke the tang off the blade when they grabbed it & did something not too smart. I have still been holding on to it all these years hoping to find someone that can weld that back together & I haven’t found them yet. Those old knives are very nice knives.
