JohnG5 Did the badge for someone who posts over a certain amount of times during the a given week not make the cut, it being the “Don’t you have something else to do?” badge?!?!?!?!?!
Drank some myself back in the day. Was cheaper than a 12pk of Coke.
One mug I have got chipped somehow, had to retire it, not to the trash, but to a display case. Just can’t get rid of a gift I guess, especially when it has meaning.
I inherited two of these from my grandmother but this one is in good condition. They used these for steam canning back in the day. The original patent is 1907 and they were built for twenty some years. Certainly a depression era appliance. I’m excited to do some cooking on this on top of a wood burning stove. The bottom is copper and the body is a heavy tin with a double walled door.
Water can be added without opening it up via a funnel up top and the funnel will whistle when getting low on water. It can be used to can or steam food or just to create a stove top oven.
RafterW very nice I can’t wait to hear about your first cook on it.
RafterW That is an interesting steamer and in decent condition as well.
RafterW that thing is very neat.
RafterW Glad you have a venue where you can use. Have some fun with it.
RafterW Wow, that is amazing!
RafterW how cool is that?
