NDKoze I might look at contacting them by email and see what they say. Here is Bismarck on the 13th and 14th Scheels is doing some big grill days promo. I might have to check that out.
Raw Meat
-
Out of curioisty, who here, if any of you has eaten really raw meat? I am talking about raw ground meat or a raw steak. I am reading a lot about raw meat diets and I am intrigued.
-
I know a couple of guys who will eat raw ground burger mixed with various things. Perhaps a Wi thing. Personally, I won’t. No problem cooking a rare product, depending.
Wiping with a Q-tip is not fun.

Not a fan of the texture of very rare (Bleu) meat myself. Had a boss that would eat meat straight out of the grinder to “test the blend”. He never got sick from it or anything
-
Well, this Friday we are releasing an episode with Austin and I but next week I am gone but…keep an eye out for some raw meat content!
-
I will eat a bite of raw beef, ground or whole muscle.
I have never had a meal of it. Raw beef tastes a little austere by itself.
I am pretty sure I have had sushi that was uncooked fish.
Raw pork and chicken, Nope, not gonna happen. -

I would like to find a good recipe for steak tartare.
Tried a couple of times but wasn’t happy with the flavor -
Regarding raw meat diets, it is my understanding that raw meat is harder for humans to digest and metabolize than cooked meat.
-
This is a favorite of mine. Eat it about 3 or 4 times a year. It is a Midwest thing called tiger meat. A lot of meat lockers make it up here. Usually eaten on a cracker.

ND Mike I’ve heard of Tiger meat and now I know someone isn’t actually eating a tiger.

Jonathon I’ve eaten plenty of sushi and sashimi and like many of them. I’ve tried steak tartar and it wasn’t terrible but I would rather have it cooked rare. I have had some parts of a rabbit, including an eyeball raw. That was in SERE school when I was in the Marine Corps and if you are hungry enough you eat it. (SERE is Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape) You learn alot about yourself in that school.

ND Mike It has been a while since I had tiger meat, but it is pretty good. Not something I would want every day, but a sleeve of saltines and some adult beverage’s make a good mix.
-
PapaSop I know a couple people up here who eat raw burgers a couple times a year. Folks up here call them cannibal burgers

ND Mike Used to eat that when I lived in Minnesota.
-
Jonathon i used to eat cannibal burgers all the time as a young lad, not so much anymore

Beef Carpaccio is thinly sliced tenderloin with shaved parmesan and sprinkled with a little “top shelf olive oil”, freshly cracked black pepper and served with toasted bagette. (readers digest explaination) Look it up on the internet. There are other things that people add such as arugula. It is one of my favorite appetizers and well worth the time and effort. A lot of people are concerned that raw meat is unhealthy and I would never consume raw poultry or pork but I don’t have a problem with beef. Try some “beef carpaccio”, I think you might enjoy it,
