I think you are right on both counts. Mineral supplements and tooth sharpening. Rats and mice will do the same thing to bones and antlers.Jonathon We have almost all red squirrels around here. From time to time you will see black ones. I have been told they are the same species as red squirrels and the color variation is just a genetic mutation, kind of like albinism.

We have lots of red squirrels in upstate ny one of the most destructive things there is they can fit thru a hole a rat can’t so I frap them and move them out

Departing Contestant We found one in our front yard when mowing a few weeks ago. I said just put it in one of the beds for some western style decoration. Then it completely disappeared altogether. We have no idea where it went, but it was a bigun.

Yep, my hunting buddies and me have had our rattling antlers in our shops chewed on too and it was not squirrels.

Fried Squirrel is very good. Squirrel dumplings in my opinion is the way to go. My brothers and I go each year on a Squirrel hunt. The results are a very tasty bowl of Squirrel dumpling made by Mom.

Squirrel in a crock pot with some chicken stock cajun seasoning and rice at the end and that is some fine dining and it does not matter if it is young or old all will be tender.
