Honestly the threads here often morph into other things by the time they are done!
For sure!
I came across an article today and thought I would share it with the group. I think we probably have at least a few people here who are raising their own beef, and possible some who already are or are thinking about selling it directly to consumers which this article addresses. Here is the article 5 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Selling Beef Direct to Consumers
Tex_77 That really got me thinking. Great article.
Tex_77 I hope more ranchers can get into this, consumers would be better educated about their products.
With the current beef marketing model, the packers, middlemen and retailers make most of the profit and the producers are left hanging in the wind. I can understand why they want a piece of the action, but it takes a lot of work to wear all those hats.
I would like to see more competition against the big conglomerates who are controlling the whole meat production and marketing industry.
Tex_77 a great read. Thanks
Liked it also. Thanks
Tex_77 Thanks Tex, I know that the farmers markets here in TX are doing well selling locally raised meats, thanks for the article.
