A way to leave audio messages
-
@Power-User @Regular-Contributors @Yearling If we had a way to allow you guys to leave audio messages through meatgistics on the community and then we would read them on the podcast, who would be up for that?

Jonathon I’m curious what your thoughts behind this are? I’m also curious what kind of message someone would want to leave audibly, that couldn’t just be typed out?
-
Tex_77 Agree with the “thought” you brought forward. Written can always be read on air audibly.
-
Tex_77 I kind of agree. This sounds like a system feature searching for a purpose.
Questions and comments that are typed out are almost always easier to understand . -
Jonathon I think you guys already provide a good podcast, I’m thinking that this would just clutter it
-
I agree with the others a written message yes, but audio I think would clutter it as well.

Looks like the tribe has spoken

Wow that’s interesting, thought came from a podcast I listen to that does it. It seems like a cool way to get the listener to have a say in what’s discussed but if people don’t want it that’s all good too! This is why it’s always valuable to ask you guys!

Actually Jon, I’m with you.
Sometimes the written word loses the spoken words emphasis. -
Denny O Okay, well we will leave this open for a while to see if anyone else thinks it could be worth it. The idea was to be able to attach audio messages to posts, if we can ever do it for cell phone videos that would obviously have some value but the only real usage I could come up with for Audio would be podcast/Livestream related.

Reading the comments and agreeing with every single one of them the real question is what harm would it be to have the option to leave a voice question/comment if one so desired? Denny o has a valid point about audio having the ability to present voice inflection compared to the challenge of one’s writing skills being able to make the same points. I personally do not see the harm unless it causes more work or a hardship on the Walton’s team.

I see both sides of this. But text does lose the meaning sometimes. Really long questions or background before the question takes a lot of typing sometimes
