Denny O You’re talking about a Chicken Bratwurst that we have already made, right? Not making a bratwurst with already cooked chicken? I can’t think of how we would do that but if its possible we can look at it.
We could do a bratwurst one, I recently did a side-by-side on poaching a brat in beer vs one on the grill and the results were not even close. Poaching it in beer added more flavor for sure. So, maybe we could make a chicken brat ahead of time with Pineapple Bratwurst Seasoning and then poach it in a fruity beer?

Jonathon I’m assuming that the butcher shop that I’m referring to made the brats in a raw state then par cooked them as all I have to do is heat them up.
But dang! They are Gud! -
A large bowl of boiled Yukon golds mashed up with butter, garlic, sour cream, and a light sprinkle of cheddar.

Ridley Acres The RARELY used downvote, I feel attacked by that comment! Just kidding, the podcast coming out today will show that I am going to be forced (possibly at gun point) to try some mashed potatoes soon. Not a fan!
Denny O I love making chicken sausages so we will pencil this one in as the go to. I will probably make a batch in advance but there are some differences in the processing when making chicken sausage so I will probably also do the actual processing, much to Tex_77 chagrin it will be a sausage one! The good news is that I will be using the One Shot grinder attachment and the Electric stuffer so you’ll get to see those in action while the sausages are heating up.

Jonathon You have to try good mashed potatoes, those things out of the box or bag are not mashed potatoes. Quality potatoes boiled in a pot then mashed with good additives make them so much better. Russet potatoes probably ruined your taste for them.

How about Swedish Potato Sausage. Would it work to substitute frozen mashed potatoes for the french fries? https://waltons.com/swedish-potato-sausage-seasoning/
-
Ridley Acres and some horseradish !!
-
d-hock The thing with the frozen fries is that they are going to somewhat offset with my love of fried things but in general I think that could work but hashbrowns are the most common replacement for the french fries. Mcjagger I love horseradish so that wouldn’t be an issue.
You’ll all get to see me gag on mashed potatoes soon as Austin is looking for something to get me back with for the Beaver Tail.

Kwel! I’ve got to get over it and try to use fresh casings for the first time and “Link Up”!! I;ve watched “Smokin Joe” so much in Texas and he makes it look so easy with a vertical stuffer.
I’ve got the equipment, just need to dive in head first after all my training!

Jonathon How about potato sausage.

Hey everyone, sorry, I am going to have to postpone this. I was MIA most of the day aside from some meetings yesterday because on the way back to work from lunch the brakes on my truck just disappeared at the bottom! I was doing 40, slowed down to about 30 then the brake just …released? I don’t know the word, the peddle went all the way down and it did NOTHING. Luckily the person ahead of me at a stop sign was fast and I just laid on the horn and hooked a right (fast in the truck) and was able to coast back home. I thought I had a rental car reserved yesterday but it turns out they don’t actually update their website with what they have. So, I am going this morning and going to try again.
I just have too much to catch up from yesterday, I can’t move it to next Wednesday as we will be getting ready for Bratfest, so I am thinking it will be moved to the 24th. Sorry guys!

Jonathon As long as you are alright, we can wait.

Tex_77 Would that be anything like the old Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile of old. Haven’t seen one of those in nearly 60 years.
