HerbcoFood I got 100 pounds last fall for 99 cents a pound could only get 2 a day so went back for 5 days straight now the best price I have seen is 1.89 and you have to buy 2 in a package which is ok but I still have some left waiting for the next sale

Was shopping for butts around here and everything was $2.50 / lb or more.
Then Friday, my dear wife stumbled on them at $1.49 / lb. Not too bad, considering. She picked up 3 for me -
processhead your wife is very nice to you

HerbcoFood that’s regular price right now around here. Hopefully prices come down. Grains prices have came down, but suppliers will have to work through the hogs that got feed high priced grain before prices start to come down.
-
There have been huge swings here in the last couple months. From .99 to $2.49. Right now tgey are un the upswing at $2.49.

In the Denver area this week, King Soopers/City Market (Kroger stores) had BOGO on bone in pork shoulder butt roast at $2.49 per pound, but with the BOGO it came out to $1.25 per pound. That’s a decent price, however my freezer is FULL!, so I had to pass.
-
johnsbrewhouse I saw the $5 off at Costco yesterday, I think I saw them for $2.49/lb, I just took a quick glance.
-
Yeah up until about 2 months ago I’d consistently get a $.99-1.29/lb sale at one of our local grocery stores every couple weeks. Newest AD I saw that has butts were for $2.49/lb. Big ouch. Am hoping my Costco has that $5 off as that drops about $.30/lb off price on a pack and boneless is certainly easier to deal with.

She is very helpful at supporting my hobbies. Who else has a wife that buys them insulated beer growlers for their birthday!
-
HerbcoFood That is what we are looking at as well. Seemed to dip 2 weeks ago with boned out ones but it climbed right back
-
Up in Canada, the best sale price I can get is $4.00/lb

Been $2.49/lb here for a long time. It’s getting depressing.
-
jfyoung45 My good lord, that’s a deal worse than what we are dealing with now. On the podcast a few months ago we talked about labor shortages at Canadian meat processing centers, looks like that might have been fixed yet huh?
-
jfyoung45 How much is that in American dollars, about $3.50? I have not kept up with it lately. That still hurts though. Hang in there.
-
calldoctoday Great questi0n and point. Today’s exchange rate is $0.78 US for every 1 $ Canadian, so in USD $3.12/lb
-
Pork bellies has also gone up in price use pay 2.19 now they are 4.25 wholesale
