States as groups

For those of you who joined us for yesterday’s very fun Livestream (and thank you for that, I badly needed that, being down 2 people and with tons to do I was NOT in the mood to do that but since it was so much fun I am really happy we did!) you already know that we created groups for each state.

This was Tex_77 idea to give people the ability to know who is in their state, who is near them and maybe allow people to get together to process! So, you can go to https://meatgistics.waltons.com/groups (or go to the users icon above and select groups from the drop down) and you can find and add your state to join that group!

Now, for some reason Florida, and Wyoming will not let me create them as states. If I can’t figure it out soon I am going to try using the abbreviation for those 2 states as it appears as if NodeBB thinks there is already a group for those names but there is NOT!

Anyway, join up, hopefully meet up and have some fun!

Tex_77 Okay that just got fixed and now shows for any state. I also added Florida, Minnesota, Virginia, Texas and Wyoming, all with the state abbreviation at the end to differentiate it from whatever Nodebb thinks is already out there for those.

If anyone is wondering, to make the group show by your name you have to go into profile, edit profile, find the Group Title dropdown, drop down the list and click the radio button next to your new group state showing there. Click Done on that drop down, then at bottom of edit profile section, click Save Changes.

Jonathon I think I know why you couldn’t create groups for Wyoming, Florida, or Texas, there are users with those names, those accounts appear to be inactive, so I’d say nuke them, then add the groups.

I joined ND, but had to go a weird way around to figure out how to join. I don’t have any drop-downs while editing my profile.

I somehow found my way to the Groups page and was able to join from there.

Denny O Don’t feel bad, guys I were working with were in Atlanta and going to ship some equipment back to New Mexico and were told they didn’t ship out of the country. What can brown do for you!

johnsbrewhouse Hows that? NDKoze added those 2 groups for ya! PapaSop Someone has to be in every group to start with, I will occasionally look and remove myself from groups that someone has joined.
