you can soak the stones in ammonia and then scrub them with a wire brush and let them dry thoroughly.
I always sharpened the slicer blades so they would make a clean circular cut on a sheet of paper (NOT with the machine running!!)
Gear Box Oil for Hobart Chopper?
-
processhead Does anyone know and or have experience with adding oil to the gearbox inside of a Hobart Bowl Chopper? I’ve seen some oil online at equipment sites, but they usually private label it and charge too much for it. I’m thinking of some kind of heavy-duty oil. Any suggestions?

I used 80-90 weight gear oil. Its the stuff used in manual transmissions and rear end differentials.

I 2nd what processhead said. I called hobert service when i needed to add oil to mine. I cant remember the exact amount needed but they will let you know. I went to the local autoparts store and bought a quart of 80-90. It was much more reasonable than hobart branded oil

Say, I’ve been thinking about making hotdogs all morning, and I have 3 briskets in freezer. Can you tell your favorite hotdog recipe? I’ve looked at a bunch, but never seen someone say, “THIS one!”
Thx!
